The 2026 Global Money Week Launch
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority successfully hosted an AML/CFT/PF Compliance Workshop on 04 February 2026 at Sibanesami Hotel, bringing together Compliance Officers from Savings and Credit Institutions to strengthen the integrity of Eswatini’s financial system.
The engagement reinforced the importance of robust record-keeping and a risk-based approach as foundational pillars of effective AML/CFT compliance, moving beyond a “tick-box” culture towards meaningful, proportionate, and risk-focused controls.
Highlighting the economic impact of weak AML/CFT frameworks, Mr. Zama Dlamini, General Manager: Market Conduct, noted that:
“Weak anti-money laundering controls come at a real economic cost. Studies show that countries can lose up to 7% of GDP in capital inflows and foreign direct investment due to inadequate AML and CFT frameworks, a loss no economy can sustain.”
As part of the programme, the Eswatini Financial Intelligence Centre was invited to present and demonstrate its online registration portal, guiding participants on the eligibility requirements and procedures for submitting Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs).
FSRA remains committed to working with industry to regulate for stability and protect the future.
